KOTA BARU: Pas' relationship with Kelantan Umno will remain until the 15th General Election (GE15), said Datuk Ahmad Yakob.

The Kelantan Menteri Besar who is also state Pas commissioner said this was decided in yesterday's meeting with the state Umno.

"The relationship between Kelantan Pas and the state Umno will remain until GE15. We decided this in the meeting yesterday," he said in his Facebook posting.

Yesterday's meeting was held at JKR 10 and attended by several leaders from both parties.

It was reported yesterday that Kelantan Umno opted to part ways with Pas in Muafakat Nasional (MN), with the political 'divorce' taking effect immediately.

Its state liaison committee chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaacob said the move was made following Pas' decision to remain with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in GE15.

Although the state Umno is no longer with Kelantan Pas, Ahmad Jazlan said the party would continue to give its support to the state government and its Menteri Besar. - NST
