JOHOR POLLS | BN will launch its manifesto for the Johor state election on March 1, Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan said.
He said the theme will be centred around Johor’s future stability.
“As you can see, we are not keeping the future stability theme under wraps as stability for prosperity (theme) won the Melaka election for BN. So for Johor (polls) the theme (will be about) stability for the future,” he said when appearing as a guest on Bernama TV’s “Suara Johor” programme today.
Ahmad said BN was committed to returning Johor as Malaysia’s most developed state under the leadership of Hasni Mohammad, who has been endorsed by the party to remain as Menteri Besar should the coalition win the election.
He hoped all 56 of BN’s candidates will work hard and reach out to as many voters as possible.
“We want to tell youths out there that almost all of their aspirations and wishes for higher education and skills will be delivered by Umno and BN.
“Job opportunities, businesses, affordable housing… these are BN’s promises to all youths and the people. To ensure continued stability, we intend to transform rural areas into ‘extraordinary’ (areas),” the Pontian MP said.
On BN’s guarantee of fulfilling its manifesto, he said a BN-led government had never failed to deliver its election manifesto pledges.
“(Unlike) the manifesto from Pakatan Harapan which (then) also comprised Bersatu, in the 100-day manifesto, many of their 10 main pledges went unfulfilled.
“On behalf of Umno, and especially BN, I am very confident that if given the mandate, we will be able to fulfil our manifesto pledges,” he said.
