Johor voters advised to follow suggested time slots

Election Commission secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak says Johor voters should avoid a last-minute rush on Saturday.

JOHOR BAHRU: Registered voters in Johor have been advised to cast their ballots on Saturday according to the time suggested by the Election Commission (EC) as stated in the MySPR Semak application.

EC secretary Ikmalrudin Ishak said voters who could not go out at the recommended time slots could do so any time from 8am to 6pm, or according to the opening hours of their respective polling centres.

“Voters are advised not to cast their ballots at the last minute and to always abide by all laws, regulations and special guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19 on polling day,” he said in a statement today.

He also reminded voters to bring their identity cards and voting information records, which are to be shown to the first polling clerk to allow him to check their names and to facilitate the voting process.

“They are advised to keep their identity cards safe and to not hand them over to anyone except the election officials at their polling stations,” he said.

Ikmalrudin called on voters to fulfil their responsibilities on polling day, and urged them to check their voting information in advance at https://pengundi.spr.gov.my, the MySPR Semak app or the EC Hotline at 03-8892 7018.

He said 2,539,606 voters are eligible to cast their ballots on Saturday, while 21,407 were early voters and 36,729 were postal voters. - FMT
