NEGRI Sembilan were crowned the women's Malaysia Hockey League (WMHL) champions following an emphatic 8-0 win over Mutiara Impian at the Bertam Stadium in Penang today.
In their first appearance in the MWHL, Negri ended their campaign unbeaten with 28 points.
Negri's Noramira Shakirah Zulkifli emerged as the top scorer with 18 goals.
K. Rajan's side will play National Development Team in the semi-finals.
The other semi-final is between Sabah and KPT-UniTen Thunderbolts.
Right after the match, the team immediately boarded their bus back home.
"There is no time to waste as the semi-final first leg is on Wednesday, followed by the return leg on Friday.
"We need to head home and rest before the first leg. I believe we will not have a problem in the semi-finals," said Rajan.
Going by form, Negri are expected to meet UniTen in the final on Sunday.
