TUARAN: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) is ready to seize the Tuaran parliamentary seat for the ruling GRS coalition at the next general election, PBS president Maximus Ongkili said today.
He said his party was confident of being able to snatch the seat from Upko based on PBS’s strong support in the state seat, which forms part of the Tuaran parliamentary constituency.
“We have strong support in the Kiulu and Tamparuli state constituencies, apart from the support of supporters in the Sulaman and Pantai Dalit state constituencies in Tuaran.
He said Tuaran was one of the seats that PBS was interested in contesting at the general election, which must be held by September next year.
Ongkili said the PBS machinery was ready and would be further strengthened.
Tuaran is represented by Upko president Madius Tangau who won on a Barisan Nasional ticket in 2018 before leaving to team up with Warisan to form the state government.
