Lorry driver arrested for rape of teen with learning disability

 

A lorry driver is in remand for five days after being arrested on suspicion of having raped a disabled teenage girl.

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a lorry driver suspected of raping a 15-year-old girl who has a learning disability in Kota Bharu.

Police said the man, in his 20s, who is the girl’s neighbour, was arrested at about 8.50pm in Jalan Kampung Bunut Payung, Kota Bharu.

Her mother said in a police report that she suspected her daughter had gone out with the man on his motorcycle before she was raped, Berita Harian reported.

Kota Bharu police chief Rosdi Daud said the mother had stated that she noticed her daughter had been out of the home for some time before arriving back just before 8pm.

He said the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and has two drug-related offences on his record. He is being held in remand for five days. - FMT
