PETALING JAYA: Police have received a second report on negligence from a father who claimed his baby daughter fell onto an asphalt road from a baby cot at a hospital in Kuala Terengganu on Nov 17, when she was just two days old.
Kuala Terengganu police chief Azli Noor said the report was received this afternoon from Syarifuddin Manan, 24, who was accompanied by his lawyer, Hazwan Hamidun.
“(The intent of) this report leans towards civil action against the hospital management for negligence,” Bernama quoted him as saying.
Syarifuddin claimed his first-born baby fell at about 10am on Nov 17 while being transferred to another hospital for jaundice treatment.
He said his baby was left unsupervised by the attending nurse on a sloping road in a cot, which was only propped up against a metal railing before it lost balance, slid and fell, causing the baby to hit her head on the road. - FMT
