KOTA KINABALU: A 13-year-old student has gone missing after being dropped off at her school in Likas on Monday (July 27).
Her family has turned to social media to rally for assistance, appealing for dashboard camera footage from the school area and asking the public to keep an eye out for the teenager.
A Facebook user, Jaime Crystal, shared that her niece, Gwen Mia, was dropped off at SM Lok Yuk Likas in the morning but was nowhere to be found when her mother arrived to pick her up in the evening.
“We have checked with the school and her friends, but no one has seen her," Jaime wrote.
“She is 13 years old, about 155cm tall, with long black frizzy hair. She was wearing a pinafore with white shoes and carrying a white bag with a flowery pattern.”
Jaime appealed to anyone who has seen Gwen or knows her whereabouts to contact the family immediately.
“She might have gone home with a friend or gotten confused with pickup arrangements," she said.
"We just want to make sure she is safe.”
She also requested anyone in the school area between 5.50am and 6.15am on Monday to check and share any relevant video footage.
Her Facebook post has since gone viral, garnering over 5,700 shares within 12 hours of being published. - Star
