Perak police chief Alwi Zainal Abidin said preliminary investigations found several injuries on the victim’s body.
“We are conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the incident and the role of each individual involved.
“A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death,” Berita Harian reported him saying in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The 54-year-old victim was pronounced dead by personnel from the Tanjung Rambutan health clinic at about 2pm.
Alwi urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information about the case, saying it could interfere with police investigations. - FMT
