Anak president's house splashed with red paint

Mazlan Aliman, the president of PAS-linked NGOs Anak and Tanah, got a shock in the wee hours today as the area near the back door of his house was splashed with red paint.

“The veranda and corridor of my house near the back door had been splashed with red paint this morning. What is their motive? To intimidate my family and me?

“For God’s sake, I have no fear. Although I know this is a threat, the struggle to defend the people and expose the abuse of BN will continue!” he said in a posting on Facebook.

NONETogether with his wife and two sons, Mazlan arrived at his house at Felda Bukit Ramon, Kulai, Johor, at around 2.30am after attending a political ceramah in Parit Sulong.

“I had just closed my eyes for about half an hour when my wife woke me up because of the strong smell of oil.

“Then she searched for the source of the smell. Not long after that she called me, the smell was from the red oil paint which was splashed at around 3.30am,” he said.

Mazlan, who is also a PAS central committee member, will make a police report later today.

Anak is the Association of Felda Settlers' Children (Anak) while Tanah stands for the Coalition of People’s Lands.

According to Tanah’s secretary Suhaizan Kaiat, who is also the Johor PAS Youth chief, the incident was the third of its kind within a week.

The first happened on April 19 at the PAS office in Air Merah, Mersing, and the second on April 22 at an eatery owned by Azhar Mansor, the secretary of another PAS-linked NGO, the Association of Pengerang’s Children (PAP).

“The immoral action probably was linked to Tanah’s suggestion to organise a People’s Lands Rally at 2pm on May 5 at Plaza Angsana, Johor Baru,” said Suhaizan.

Yesterday, Mazlan also announced that he will mobilise 10,000 members and supporters of Tanah to join the Bersih 3.0 rally in Kuala Lumpur on April 28, and they will march from Menara Maybank to Dataran Merdeka at 1.30pm that day.

Suhaizan urged the authorities to investigate the incident and charge the perpetrator to prevent such an incident from recurring.
