The alleged rude behaviour of Pakatan Rakyat MPs at the Agong's installation last week shows that the coalition could very well push for the country to become a republic if it comes into power, said Malay rights NGO Perkasa.
"We did not have the chance to attend the installation, but if we did we would have been overjoyed and behaved accordingly, unlike Pakatan MPs who were given the chance but chose to ridicule and make fun of the event and the prime minister who was appointed by the Agong...
"We consider them traitors against the Malay rulers and are no longer loyal to the country. It is possible that they will slowly turn the country into a republic if they come into power," Perkasa leader Abdul Rahman Abu Bakar told reporters today.

"We consider them traitors against the Malay rulers and are no longer loyal to the country. It is possible that they will slowly turn the country into a republic if they come into power," Perkasa leader Abdul Rahman Abu Bakar told reporters today.
The Malay rights NGO's deputy president added that if this happens, Perkasa will fight Pakatan Rakyat "to the end" in accordance with the its constitution which outlines support for the royal institution.
Speaking to reporters outside the Dang Wangi police district headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Abdul Rahman added that the MPs had not only gone against the federal constitution but also the Rukunegara which calls for loyalty to King and country.
Utusan Malaysia had last week front-paged a report claiming that PKR's Gombak and Batu MPs Azmin Ali and Tian Chua, and PAS' Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad were making fun of the ceremony, national leaders and several sultans who attended the event.
The MPs have, however, denied the report which was based on the account of a medical officer on duty that day.
Pro-royalty rally
Convinced that the incident did happen, however, Abdul Rahman said Perkasa will hold a rally on April 29 in support of the institution of the monarchy, and to send the message that this sort of behaviour is unacceptable.
It had met with police today to get the go-ahead to hold the rally at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur, at 9am, and to march to nearby Dataran Merdeka after that.
"Perkasa invites all Malaysians who are loyal to the Malay rulers. All NGOs are also invited especially Jati, which champions religion, race and the institution of the monarchy," he said.
He added that the rally would is also open to non-Malays who also believe in the institution of the monarchy.
He said the rally would go ahead whether or not Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim manages to explain the alleged faux pas to the Agong. The MB had offered to do so earlier today.
Speakers expected for the day include Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali and Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin.
"We will hold a mass prayer to thank Allah for the installation of our 14th Agong and pray for thousands more to come, until the end of the world," he said.
