PUTRAJAYA, April 19 — The RM5 administration fee for government hospitals will be scrapped come May 1, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced today.
"The government has agreed to scrap the administration fee of RM5 in outpatient offices of government hospitals as well as in government clinics," Najib announced today during the opening of the Federal Territories Islamic
Religious Council's (MAIWP) 1Malaysia low-risk maternity center at Putrajaya Hospital here.
"(The government has also agreed) to lower the charge of Third Class patients by 50 per cent with a maximum charge of RM250 for each admittance," he added.
Najib said these "exceptions" will be effective May 1.
