KOTA BAHARU - Selangor and Kelantan Umno are sharing similar goals, mainly to recapture the two states from the opposition in the 13th general election, although the approaches might differ.
Selangor Umno Liaison Committee deputy chairman Datuk Seri Noh Omar said unlike Kelantan where most of the voters were Malays, Selangor had to pay heed to both Malays and non-Malays.
"In Kelantan, PAS has reigned for a long time while in Selangor, the opposition is still new," he told reporters after opening the Kubang Kerian Umno division delegates' meeting here today.
Noh, who is also Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister, said the people of Selangor should be able to gauge the farce in the opposition, especially in its failure to implement the election manifesto.
"The Selangor government's admission that it does not have to fulfil the promises made is enough for the people to see how they made a mockery of the manifesto," he said.
Noh urged Umno members to be in the state of readiness and regard tomorrow would be the election day.
