Phahrolrazi denies plot to unseat Kedah MB
Kedah executive councillor Phahrolrazi Zawawi has denied making an anonymous statement to an online news portal saying Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak should have been replaced a year ago.
Sinar Harian in a report today quoted Phahrolrazi as saying that his feud with Azizan was over.
"This issue was resolved after I and (deputy PAS commissioner) Ismail Salleh accepted our extension as exco members in the Kedah government. This means that we give full support to Azizian's leadership.
"I assume that there are some quarters who want to create chaos in Kedah PAS again, after the exco crisis in May," Phahrolrazi is quoted as saying.
News portal Free Malaysia Today quoted an unnamed Kedah PAS leader as saying that Azizan should have been replaced due to his poor health but that he was being backed by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and secretary-general Mustafa Ali.
Asked by Sinar Harian whether Azizan should stay on as menteri besar, Phahrolrazi said it was up to the PAS central leadership.
Pharolrazi and Ismail had in April triggered a crisis in Kedah after they refused their reappointments to the state executive council in protest against Azizan's leadership.
However, after mediation by the PAS central leadership, theyrejoined the state government and a committee was formed by the party to oversee Azizan's administration.
Azizan has recently been plagued by health problems and failed to show up at his own Hari Raya open house.
