Selangor is afraid to hold simultaneous elections, Noh Omar jeers

S'gor is afraid to hold simultaneous elections, Noh Omar jeers
The Selangor government's refusal to hold simultaneous state and parliamentary elections shows it is afraid to go back to the people to get a second mandate, said Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chief Datuk Seri Noh Omar.

Noh, who is also Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister, said this was because the people of Selangor had wised up to the empty promises dished up by the PKR-led Selangor government.

He told this to reporters when met at the Selangor BN Wanita's Merdekaraya celebration at the Finas Building here Wednesday.

Prior to this, the Selangor government had said it would not hold simultaneous elections purportedly because the Electoral Roll "had not been cleaned up".

The BN lost Selangor to the opposition in the last general election in 2008 after having been in power in the state since independence.
