A Facebook page belonging to Suara Wanita 1Malaysia, the organisation headed by Sharifah Zohra Jabeen Syed Shah Miskin who shot to fame over her outburst at a student during a forum last month, has been deluged with condemnations from netizens.
On microblogging site Twitter, netizens have been pouring scorn on Zohra, who heads the SW1M, a pro-UMNO outfit which has been organising gatherings for university students by dishing out merchandise and lucky draw gifts including tablets.
Most however prefer to take the mickey out of Zohra's sharp interruption of student K.S. Bawani as seen on the now-viral YouTube clip, posting the word "Listen" as was repeated by Zohra for a whopping 11 times to silence the second-year law student's criticism of government policies.
Fed-up with the taunts and calls for an apology to the student, a posting on SW1M's Facebook, signed off simply as "Admin ~ Mis Natrah", let out a long drivel defending Zohra, only to invite comments deriding its poor English grammar.
"I died reading this ... RIP English," says one posting. "Too many grammatical errors. I feel sorry for you," goes another.
"Simple english pun fail, degree mana nih? (which degree is this?)" asks one, while another posts: "I'm a student. And it seems that I may even have better English than you do. So kelam kabut post. What a shame. Got degree is it?", referring to Zohra's boast of having a degree as opposed to Bawani's O-level (SPM) qualification.
Other light-hearted responses include "Please go back to school, your english teacher must be crying right now looking at the statement above"; "My dog barks better English"; and "Calling your post 'gibberish' doesn't begin to describe the atrocious levels of your grammar...".
One user, Mohd Khairie sums it up hilariously: "Hey Mis Natrah, I'm sorry if we came off as rude. I think you actually have a few valid points in your argument, like for example, LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN...", he wrote, repeating the word for over 400 times.
The following is the unedited posting by SW1M in defence of Zohra.
"Listen, Listen, Listen, Listen, Listen, Listen, Listen, Listen, read as you may if this what it take to make's to stop the 'barking' as SW1M is not represent any other politic parties. we are independent NGO. if the issue make you all angry as see's that more bavani 'friend' compare with the others. So here we are to give you note, THE FORUM IS ABOUT WOMEN & CHILD, AND WHY BAVANI STOOD UP AND TELL'S FAIRY TALES? WE ARE NOT THE GOVERNMENT. WE ARE INDEPENDENT NGO'S. AND WE DID LISTEN TO HER, WHY DOES SHE LISTEN TO US AND RAN AFTER WE TRIES TO EXPLAIN TO HER.
WHO ASKED HER TO RAN AWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EXPLANATION? WHO CANNOT ACCEPT THE TRUTH? CUBA? BRAZIL? SPAIN? DO YOU KNOW THAT THE COUNTRY ECONOMIC WISED? DO A RESEARCH, LEARN TO DO THAT, YOU ALL A STUDENT, IF YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE OPPOSITE LEADER AS YOU TO DO, AND I ASKED YOU BACK TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE TALKED, MANNER IS ALL THE NATION PROUD OF, TO SEE ALL OF YOU BEHAVE, I DO RESPECT MADAM SHARIFAH ZOHRA HAVE GUT'S TO TEACH BAVANI A LESSON. BVANI DID DESERVED THAT
respect yourself and others will respect you, if you have lest of knowledge about RESPECT, let me teach you then, courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen as we supposedly listen to many, speak to a few due to what we were. Listen, real manner doesn't say anything, it just ticks off the possibilities. opens all doors. you can walk through anyone that suits you. respect for ourselves guides our morals, respect for others guides our manners, or should I teach you that also?
your conscience is the measure of the honesty of your selfishness. Listen to it carefully, as a respectable appearance is sufficient to make people more interested in your self.
WE ALL SUPPORT SHARIFAH ZOHRA, THERE IS NO NEED FOR HER TO APOLOGIZE TO BAVANI, AS BAVANI NEED TO LEARN HOW TO RESPECT OTHER'S
