STRAITS TIMES SINGAPURA CUBA MENCETUS RUSUHAN BARU DI KUALA LUMPUR.

Singapore Straits Times delivers information of a civil group mass rally in KL.

Lester Kong seizes an opportunity to put PM Najib at odds.

  1. Malaysian civil society groups are planning another mass rally next week. Led by HIshamuddin Rais, a leader from Bersih, they aim to push for clean elections.
  2. Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat (People’s Uprising Gathering) will be joined by thousands participants on Jan 12 at the Stadium Merdeka. Many opposition leaders, as well as Himpunan Hijau, an environmental group that opposes new rare-earth plant in Pahang will be present, too. Hishamuddin was determined to get a permit using the Stadium Merdeka.
  3. Ibrahim Suffian, the director of independent pollster Merdeka Centre deliberately anticipating the decline in PM Najib’s rating.
  4. Co-operating with Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat organizers, the Merdeka Centre director seek avenues to dig out causes that can result backbiting to the Barisan Nasional.
  5. Political analyst Khoo Kay Peng is the first class instigator in this mass rally.

He said that people should be given opportunity to voice up their frustrations and PM Najib must deliver his promise about implementing political reforms, he said.

No matter what reasons organizers of Bersih and opposition leaders are giving, they cannot be taken lightly as security and laws must be uphold into action and enforced as this could be the beginning stage of chaos in the country.
