EXPLAIN, NAJIB: Profile of an Umno blogger - Papa Gomo an ex-cop, convict & phantom voter

EXPLAIN, NAJIB: Profile of an Umno blogger - Papa Gomo an ex-cop, convict & phantom voter
It looks like Prime Minister Najib Razak, who allegedly spent more than RM100 million ringgit to build up an Internet presence for himself and for attacking political enemies such as Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, has bungled again.
This time Najib's misjudgment, and the ensuing negative impact to his Umno party, comes from enlisting bloggers and cyber-troopers of dubious credibility to do the 'dirty' work for him and Umno. Papa Gomo, whose name is well-known after a series of false and fabricated expose's against Opposition members, has been exposed as a ex-cop, convict and phantom voter.

“Investigation showed that the individual named Wan Muhammad Wan Azri Wan Deris (Papa Gomo's real name) is a former traffic policeman with the rank of corporal that was sentenced to jail for the offence of threatening someone suspected to be a drug addict to get bribes,” PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli told a press conference on Friday.
The Umno blogger had drawn notice to himself when he refused to be cowed by a RM100 mil defamation suit filed by Anwar, prompting curiosity as to his background and the type of financial means he possessed. Papa Gomo had published clips of a sex video that purportedly showed Anwar cavorting with a male partner. The Opposition Leader has slammed the video as vile "lies" and demanded a retraction and apology failing which he would sue.
However, Anwar is not Papa Gomo's sole target. The Umno blogger had previously painted DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng as wishful of wanting to create a Christian state in Malaysia, with himself as the first Christian prime minister. The posting allowed the Umno-controlled mainstream media to launch an all-out assault to tarnish Guan Eng and his hold on the Penang state government.
Phantom voter: Cursory check proves how rampant rigging and duplication is
On Friday, Rafizi showed reporters proof of his findings about Papa Gomo's background. According to Rafizi, an entry in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)’s database showed Papa Gomo's name and his police identity card number.
Rafizi also revealed that Papa Gomo was registered twice as a voter - under his police IC in the Ampang parliamentary constituency and under his ordinary citizen's IC in Wangsa Maju. Papa Gomo's  address was the same in both ICs, bolstering the belief that he was indeed the person, Rafizi said.
The PKR leader also expressed shock at how such a cursory probe could immediately throw up a duplication, showing that the presence of phantom or 'rigged' voters in the electoral roll was rampant.
“The only difference is the birth date in both searches in the EC (website), but we are confident he is the same person as provided in the screen capture with addresses in Danau Apartment and Taman Bukit Ampang. This finding shows the existence of phantom voters, with Papagomo being allowed to vote twice,” Rafizi said.
He called on the EC to explain the matter and state “how many individuals like Papagomo, who likes to slander political opponents, are given an opportunity to vote” twice.
