KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 — Saiful Bukhari Azlan has denied his sodomy complaint against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was a political conspiracy and expressed surprise at his father’s claim earlier today.
In a press conference at his lawyer Zamri Idrus’ office this evening, Saiful was asked if it was true that the sodomy charge was a political conspiracy against Anwar.
“No, as I mentioned earlier, no.
“There is no political conspiracy in this,” Saiful, a former political aide of Anwar, replied.
Saiful similarly replied “No” when asked if a special officer in the prime minister’s department was involved in planning the alleged conspiracy, as claimed by his father Azlan Mohd Lazim.
Saiful claimed that Anwar was behind his father’s remarks on the second sodomy charge earlier today.
Saiful did not offer any proof to back up his accusation, but only pointed to the presence of PKR Johari Abdul at the press conference where his father had spoken earlier and apologised to Anwar’s family for the suffering they went through.
Saiful denied that he had a misunderstanding with his father and denied that his father had financial problems.
He also said attempts to contact his father had failed, saying that Azlan had switched off his mobile phone.
