This was decided after the Court of Appeal's three-man bench heard submissions from both the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur and the Federal government today.
Judge Datuk Abu Samah Nordin heads the panel. Datuk Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahim and Datuk Rohana Yusof are the other judges.
The row over the use of the word “Allah” by the Catholics began in 2008 when the Home Ministry threatened to revoke the permit of the Catholic paper Herald, which prompted the church to take the matter to court.
The High Court ruled in 2009 that the Catholic Church had the constitutional right to use the word “Allah” to refer to God. - August 22, 2013.
