MCA wants an end to Ridzuan Condo war of words
Politicians should stop attacking one another over the Ridzuan Condominium issue and start working on a solution instead, said MCA deputy publicity chief Loh Seng Kok.
He said the war of words would merely serve as a distraction to the condominium joint management board's (JMB) racial profiling and security concerns.
"We should not make sweeping stereotypes of any individual who can trace his or her roots to Africa based on ethnicity, genealogy, ancestry or nationality due to the misdeeds of several individuals who coincidently happen to hail from the African continent.
"The security concerns of the residents must be addressed. Likewise, the projection of the racist stand taken by the JMB must likewise be addressed," he said in a statement yesterday.
He was responding to Seri Setia assemblyperson Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad's statement on Thursday where he told MCA that the JMB's decision was racist.
Loh replied that his earlier statement on the issue had been quoted out of context in the media, and therefore Nik Nazmi's statement was uncalled for because MCA already recognises this as racism.
