MyWatch chairman R.Sri Sanjeevan seems to have lost his memory despite regaining full consciousness.
The Star quoted Sanjeevan's father P.Ramakrishnan as saying his son had no memory of the murder attempt on his life nor could he recognise anyone, including himself.
Doctors said that the cause of his amnesia was most probably due to Sanjeevan being in a coma for 10 days.
"There are so many things he can't remember but we are slowly refreshing his memory, one by one," Ramakrishnan said.
According to The Star, Ramakrishnan said Sanjeevan had asked him who he was and why he was there.
"You are Sanjeevan. You are my son and you had an accident," Ramakrishnan told his son.
He added that this was an additional blow for the family after all the stress they had gone through since the incident on July 27.
Despite everything, Ramakrishnan remained upbeat saying his son was slowly regaining his strength.
Doctors had warned Ramakrishnan that Sanjeevan had suffered a certain degree of trauma which could cause him to have memory lapses.
On July 27, Sanjeevan was shot by a motorcycle pillion rider in Bahau, Negri Sembilan.
Despite surviving, a bullet was lodged in Sanjeevan and only removed 18 days later. He had also developed a blood clot in his heart and lungs.
Police have not made any arrests yet in connection with the attempted murder.
It is believed that the attempt on Sanjeevan's life was due to his threat to make public a number of corrupt policemen who are allegedly in cahoots with drug syndicates.
