PETALING JAYA: Local anti-crime watchdog, MyWatch will continue with its revelations on corrupt cops linked to drug syndicates and underworld kingpins.
In an interview with FMT, co-founder of MyWatch, S Gobi Krishnan said they were only waiting for tR Sri Sanjeevan to recover from his injury and the revelations will continue.
The MyWatch chief was shot in a murder attempt on July 27, a couple of weeks after he had exposed links between a drug syndicate and the police in Negeri Sembilan and Malacca.
He successfully underwent surgery recently to remove a bullet which was lodged in his abdomen and is currently recovering at the Serdang Hospital.
“Sanjeevan will not be brought down, he will come back stronger. I know him too well. MyWatch will continue its work for sure, we are just waiting for his return,” said Gobi Krishnan.
Gobi said the police and government never could refute the crime statistics that MyWatch revealed.
“We had previously come up with crime statistics which showed the police and Home Ministry covering up the truth.
“We received no responses and nor refutations from both parties, this only means that our statistics were accurate. They must admit it,” he added.
‘We’re not the enemy’
Gobi urged the police and government to work together with MyWatch to bring about a more peaceful and safe Malaysia.
“We are only trying to give the people a clearer picture, the police must admit the truth and work with us. We want to be treated like a partner against crime. We are not the enemy,” he said.
Gobi also said that Sanjeevan’s murder attempt was bound to happen since he had revealed top cops and a drug syndicate.
“He was only trying to help the police but it built up to this. Thank god the attempt failed,” he said.
Gobi also expressed concern over his own safety and others in MyWatch.
“I have been cautious from the very first day, now we have to be extra cautious at all times. We never know what will happen as our revelations involve high profile people and drug syndicates,” added Gobi.
