'Act against deputy minister for misleading House'

DAP's Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng has proposed to refer Deputy Federal Territories Minister Loga Bala Mohan to the rights and privileges committee for "misleading" the House over the assessment hike implementation date for Kuala Lumpur.

Loga Bala (left) said yesterday in Parliament that the assessment hike will be postponed indefinitely pending public hearings which will be completed in March.

But Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was reported to have said this morning that the hike will proceed to come into effect on Jan 1, 2014.

Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia said that he would seek an explanation from the ministry and decide on the matter on Monday next week, the next day of Parliament sitting.
