But internet connection, however, will remain sluggish.
So voters who want faster connection should download their support for BN candidate and Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong.
A Bernama report stated that the Communications and Multimedia Ministry is prepared to assist in improving broadband facilities in Teluk Intan as desired by the younger generation in the area.
However, this came with a caveat.
Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek said this could be realised if the Teluk Intan parliamentary seat is represented by a BN representative.
"This is a good proposition and can only be realised if the candidate comes from the same party as the one that oversees the local authorities (PBT).
"This raises the possibility (for implementation)," he told reporters after visiting the ministry's Media Centre for the Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election, here today.
Ahmad Shabery was asked to comment on the request from the younger generation in the Teluk Intan constituency for broadband facilities in the area to be improved.
The request was conveyed through Mah.
Ahmad Shabery said for this reason, the local authorities must provide the basic broadband infrastructure in the area concerned.
"Any endeavour to provide broadband facilities to the community is a positive move," he added.
The May 31 by-election is being held following the death of the incumbent MP Seah Leong Peng, from DAP on May 1.
