Embattled Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim today apologised to the people of Selangor for dragging them into the political turmoil surrounding the top post in the nation's richest state.
In his speech to some 200 employees of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), Khalid said he was sorry that in an effort to defend his integrity, he had indirectly involved the people and civil servants.
"I am sorry for the spotlight that has been put on you. For me, it is not a problem because I chose to be a politician... so I must face it.
"I am sorry to all of you because (you) did not come here to get involved in all of this. That is the price to pay for integrity," he said while officiating the third PKNS Integrity Conference at the Shah Alam Convention Centre.
