Ariff Sabri follows up on Mahathir's criticism of the PM.
PETALING JAYA: Raub MP Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz of DAP claims Prime Minister Najib Razak falls seriosuly short of the mark as leader of the country in comparison with former prime minister Mahathir Mohammad, who has emerged as one of his most strident critics.
In his blog entry yesterday, Ariff proclaimed, “Najib hasn’t got the capacity. And by capacity I mean not the presence of some degree of intelligence (which Najib has) but resoluteness, brevity, determination, vision, etc.”
“Mahathir provided leadership. Najib can only provide posturing” and “false hopes,” he said.
Mentioning landmarks such as the Petronas Twin Towers, KLIA, Putrajaya as Mahathirian “monuments that constitute the faces of civilization,” Ariff asked, “What Has Najib done?” and gave the answer: “He is more famous for doing nothing except mouthing hollow symbols.”
Ariff suggested that Najib’s days as prime minister were numbered following Mahathir’s criticism of his administration and policies.
Mahathir recently announced the withdrawal of his support for Najib as Umno’s president and Malaysia’s prime minister.
