A PAS Youth delegate launched a broadside on opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim during the wing's annual meet today.
Defending PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, Kelantan delegate Norazaliza Mohd Alawi said the former has been subjected to unfair criticism for not adhering to the Pakatan Rakyat consensus on the Selangor crisis.
Training his guns on Anwar, he asked: "Did Anwar get consensus from Pakatan when he announced that (PKR’s) Baru Bian would become the Sarawak chief minister (if Pakatan wins the state)?"
"Did he seek consensus from Pakatan when he announced there would be a non-Muslim deputy prime minister (if Pakatan seized federal power)?
"Did he seek consensus when he announced the ‘Kajang move’ (to oust Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim)?" he asked.
The other delegates responded with a resounding "No" to each question.
Those who admire Anwar slammed
Norazaliza also slammed certain party members whom he accused of being more loyal to Anwar.
"For those who admire Anwar, our (PAS spiritual leader) Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat fought Umno for 31 years, much longer than Anwar did," he said.
Norazaliza also singled out PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu without naming him for saying that Hadi's moves in the Selangor crisis were "personal" decisions.
"Some question Hadi's decisions, but he knows better as he has known Anwar for decades since when Anwar was in Abim and Umno," he said.
He added that whatever decision made by Hadi was merely a reaction to PAS' Pakatan partners.
PKR and PAS are at loggerheads as they cannot agree on PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the next Selangor menteri besar. -M'kini
