All Wan Azizah wants is a crystal ball on Sarawak polls

All Opposition Leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail wished in the coming Sarawak state election is a crystal ball to predict how many seats Pakatan Harapan will win.
"We aim to get whatever seats we contest; we enter to win, but we know the reality on the ground," she said at a press conference in Petaling Jaya today after chairing the Harapan presidential council meeting following the dissolution of Sarawak legislative assembly today.
Asked about Harapan's confidence, she said: "Wait first, I wish I had a crystal ball."
She said the allies never discussed taking over the Sarawak state government in the meeting.
Harapan will discuss how to win the seats first and will do their best to achieve that (goal), she said.
Meanwhile, she said Harapan has finally settled the overlapping seats claims by its allies today.
She, however, said the seat negotiation did not involve PAS, which announced that it will contest in 11 seats.
Meanwhile, DAP leader Tony Pua said the Pakatan Harapan allies originally have more than 20 overlapping seat claims.
He also said Harapan is working with Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) and may let the latter contest in one to three seats.
Both Wan Azizah and Pua, however, refused to reveal the details of the seat arrangements and candidates.
Pua said his party, DAP, will not give way to PAS, which announced it will contest in Pujut, the seat that was won by DAP in 2011.
On the possibility that (more) opposition leaders might be barred from entering Sarawak, Wan Azizah hopes democracy will prevail in Malaysia so that the travel bans will be lifted against the opposition politicians.
"We are checking with the state immigration department, and we are asking for a good deed from the chief minister," she said.
"The state legislative assembly was dissolved today and the power (to blacklist us) now lies with the governor (Taib Mahmud)," she said.
She said the coalition has not decided whether to meet Taib on the matter.
It was reported that the state government was mulling to bar Wan Azizah, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang and secretary-general and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng from entering the state.
She also pointed out that the leaders will be using Skype application to campaign during the state polls.
"There is always Skype, my dear," she said.
On the controversy over Guan Eng's bangalow purchased below market price, she said it will not be an issue in the state election.
"No lah, that happened in Penang... Native customary land rights (is a bigger) issue in Sarawak," she added. -Mkini
