Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansur said that he will not entertain Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos's 'senile' remark aimed at his person.
He said that he would just let the red-shirt chief do and say what he wanted and won't bother about him.
"Let him say what he wants, I will not entertain people like that," said Tengku Adnan during a press conference.
He spoke to reporters after opening an affordable housing lottery draw in Kuala Lumpur today.
Tengku Adnan was referring to Jamal's statement to the media soon after he was released from remand after his arrest for rioting.
Jamal had sniped that the Umno secretary-general was "senile" for saying that action would be taken against Umno members who were involved in the red-shirt counter-rally to Bersih 5 on Nov 19.
Commenting further on what action would be taken against errant party members who were involved in the protests, Tengku Adnan said that the party was monitoring the situation and would decide soon.
The Putrajaya parliamentarian added that action would also be taken against party members who were found to be involved in the ruckus in parliament on Thursday.
"We'll wait and see, for if we want to act on everything... you know how it is. Those who do these things are half mad too," he said.
On Thursday, the last day of parliament for this sitting, things turned rowdy when supporters of Pasir Salak parliamentarian Tajuddin Abdul Rahman accosted Amanah MP Khalid Ibrahim and tried to rough him up.
Tengku Adnan had earlier denied Umno complicity in the matter.- Mkini
