KOTA KINABALU: A bouncer was charged in the magistrate’s court here today with the murder of a teenager over a week ago.
Mohd Azmin Lidin, 28, from Kampung Cenderamata Likas, was charged with murdering Yaacob Nasran 18, near Siam Thai Bar, Jalan Asia City here between 3.30am and 4.30am on Dec 15.
The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code provides for a mandatory death sentence if convicted.
However, no plea was recorded.
Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun set Feb 7 for mention and no bail was offered.
Prosecuting officer Insp P Nathan prosecuted, while Mohd Azmin was represented by lawyer Rakhbir Singh.
Meanwhile in the same court, an elderly woman, Chin Su Chin, 67, was charged with murdering her friend, Ngur Lim Kiau, 64.
Chin was alleged to have committed the offence in a house at Kepayan Ridge near here about 3pm on Sept 23 and was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
No plea was recorded.
The case was set for mention on Jan 11 next year. -FMT
