LAHAD DATU: The former assemblyman for Lahad Datu, Datuk Mohd Yusof Amat Jamlee (pic) died at his daughter''s residence in Taman Aman Jaya here at 1.40pm Thursday.
His daughter, Saloma, 54, in confirming the matter said her father suffered a stroke and was admitted to Kota Kinabalu KPJ Hospital for almost two months.
"He had been ill for a long time...after being warded for two months at the hospital, we took him back home about 10 months ago," she said when contacted by Bernama.
Yusof Jamlee who won Lahad Datu state seat in the 1994 state election, left behind four widows and 18 children.
It was learnt, funeral prayers for Mohd Yusof would be held at Tuan Guru Hj Muda mosque before being laid to rest at about 10am in the Muslim cemetery in Kampung Bikang here. - Bernama
