PETALING JAYA: Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change, and Environment Minister Yeo Bee Yin has wondered if she could have met her husband, Lee Yeow Seng, when she was much younger.
In a Facebook post on Friday (March 29), Yeo said that Gomali Estate was bought over by the company belonging to Lee’s father – IOI Corp Berhad – when she was in kindergarten.
She said that Lee grew up following his father on frequent visits to the clusters of estates in the area, including Gomali Estate.
“We didn’t meet. Or did we,” she said.
“Then one day, the stars aligned. We met. And things amazingly fell into place. On Jan 3, 2019, he proposed to me during a punting tour at my dream university and alma mater of Cambridge University in the most unexpected way,” she said.
She ended the post with a passage from the Bible, which talks about love, which can be found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
It read; “Love is patient, love is kind. It is not self-seeking, it keeps no record of wrongs. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
The post included a picture of Yeo and Lee believed to taken in Cambridge University in the United Kingdom on the day of the proposal.
At the time of writing, the post received over 15,000 likes, and it has been shared over 1,000 times. Many congratulated Yeo and Lee, and wished them well.
Yeo and Lee had their marriage registered on March 11, with their wedding reception reported to be on Friday (March 29) at the Le Meridien Hotel, Putrajaya.
