Fire breaks out in storeroom on 20th floor of building

 

KUALA LUMPUR: A fire broke out at the UEM Group Bhd's Mercu UEM building near KL Sentral on Friday (Dec 11) afternoon.

According to a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman, a call regarding the incident was received at 2.33pm.

"Smoke was coming out from the 20th floor of the building. Firefighters located the fire inside a storeroom.

"The fire destroyed an estimated 80% of the room and the incident had no victims. The operation was concluded at 5.06pm," the spokesman said.

The source of the fire is still under investigation. - Star
