KUALA LUMPUR: The supply of Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer will be discussed in the Dewan Rakyat, which sits for the final day today before it adjourns.
According to the Meeting Order, this will be raised during Ministers’ Question Time by Lim Guan Eng (PH-Bagan), who wants the science, technology and innovation minister to disclose the cost, effectiveness and coverage of the vaccine, especially the immunity period and side effects.
Lim also wants to know the government’s rationale for selecting the vaccine from Pfizer, instead of from other companies, including those in the US, China and Russia, as well as comparison in terms of the cost and effectiveness of the vaccines.
Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh (PH-Ledang) will also ask the prime minister on the government’s measures to further tackle Covid-19 following the opening of the economic sector.
The Temporary Measures for Government Financing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) (Amendment) Bill 2020 will be tabled for the second reading.
Also scheduled for tabling for second reading are the Sales Tax (Amendment) Bill 2020, the Service Tax (Amendment) Bill 2020 and the Tourism Tax (Amendment) Bill 2020.
