PUTRAJAYA: Human resources minister M Saravanan has been placed in home quarantine after he came in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.
Saravanan tested negative for Covid-19 in an initial swab test yesterday, but his results for a subsequent test remain pending.
“So far so good,” he told Bernama when prompted for his health condition.
Saravanan was reported to have met an official of the Human Resources Development Fund who tested positive yesterday night.
He said all SOPs were accounted for during the meeting, face masks and social distancing included.
Saravanan said his public duties would not be affected by the quarantine, and he will attend all his meetings via video conferencing.
HRDF confirmed that a staff member has tested positive for Covid-19 and is receiving treatment. The fund’s headquarters are to close for a week from today for sanitisation. Employees have been told to undergo Covid-19 swab tests. - FMT
