IPOH: Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) is not ruling out the possibility of a new political coalition in the state.
He said discussions will be held among political parties, including those from Pakatan Harapan.
"Everything is a possibility. We will try to keep the current coalition, but if the situation changes, we will try to make sure that it is suitable for the situation," he said to media after his audience with Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah at Istana Kinta on Sunday (Dec 6).
Ahmad Zahid added that he will be nominating several names for the new Perak Mentri Besar to Sultan Nazrin.
"We will be nominating several names to Sultan Nazrin as soon as possible. We had a meeting with Perak Umno assemblymen on Saturday and I will chair another meeting with the party council," he said.
The audience comes after Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu's resignation as the Mentri Besar on Saturday (Dec 5).
Prior to this, he had lost the majority in a confidence motion at the state assembly on Friday (Dec 4). - Star
