YOURSAY | ‘Don't talk just to make the backdoor PM happy.’
Ku Li has disrespected Umno discipline, confused members - info chief
Pokokelapa: Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan, why did you not say all of this earlier? Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Ku Li) had always said he never recognised Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
Anyway, it does not matter. Umno is full of rogues. You mentioned discipline. What discipline does Umno have?
You spoke about Ku Li not having "shame holding a press conference with the opposition". What about "Malu Apa, Bossku" still speaking to the press after being charged and convicted?
The opposition? Umno, when it wants to, speaks against Muhyiddin. What about kicking out a menteri besar from your own coalition and then begging them to form the new government?
Now let me see if Umno will take disciplinary action against the Gua Musang MP? I bet no action will be taken, it is just talk.
FairMalaysian: Irrespective of whether what Ku Li did was right or not, Shahril's behaviour smacks of the rotten apple syndrome.
How do you think former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak got away by allegedly stealing billions - because of this kind of attitude. None had the guts to say and do the right thing. It is this kind of beholden attitude that is disguised as toeing the party line.
Isn't it a shame that despite biting the dust and now wandering in the woods in search of a kingdom, this Umno mouthpiece has still not learnt any lessons of what it takes to be a people's representative?
The poor Malays must be a kinder lot - as MCA and MIC were not as lucky - many Chinese and Indians do actually know when to put their foot down and don't get carried away by "moral platitudes".
Simple Truth: Your party adviser has more maruah (dignity) than any one of you in Umno.
You have a criminal which you appointed as chairperson of BN backbenchers. Your president is charged for corruption. You shamelessly joined up with Bersatu, which earlier stole your MPs and showed you its middle finger. Yet, you don’t have the courage to dethrone the PM.
Who is more shameless?
IndigoCat9464: Shahril, as a youth in Umno:
1. Haven't you seen that your party is full of kleptocrats and cronies that have allegedly swindled the rakyat's money?
2. Haven't you seen that your Malay community for the past 50 years have not progressed?
3. So, it looks like you don't want to change and progress with the times. Would you rather sit in your comfort zone and 'make easy money' by giving out government projects?
Look around. Your dinosaur leaders will be gone soon. We need young leaders or calibre to move our country forward.
You cannot keep hoping that non-Malay tax money and Petronas ‘goodwill’ payments will keep the country going in the future.
How are you going to be beneficial to the country's future? This the question you need to answer. Bro, the world is changing.
Iphonezours: Hello, young man, Razaleigh has been in politics long before you were born.
Razaleigh’s position is one taken based on principles. What principles did you preach, or have, when Umno backstabbed the sitting Perak menteri besar (though he was a traitor himself)?
Your party worked with traitors to unseat a duly-elected Pakatan Harapan government all because Umno is greedy for power.
Please, for heaven sake, Malaysians don’t need to be reminded by your type of talk.
YellowMarlin8834: So? Sack Razaleigh if you dare. Don't just talk to make the backdoor PM happy.
Even many of your chiefs, including party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, mentioned that Umno members are entitled to support whoever they want.
I wonder if genuine Umno members are embarrassed by dross like you or BN secretary-general Annuar Musa who are very confused as to who actually is the boss? Or I am confused because Umno can be easily bought over.
Don't forget, what you are actually getting is far less than what former PKR leader Azmin Ali and gang are getting. Umno is only a mistress to Bersatu. They have Azmin eyeing for the PM post.
And Justice For All: Yes, go sack Razaleigh, and let us see what happens with your fragile government majority of only two or three MPs.
See if you are willing to risk him going to Pejuang. He might just pull one or two Umno MPs with him in the process. So as I said, sack him.
Just A Malaysian: There is no necessity to make a big issue out of the Ku Li presser. Umno is showing their lack of magnanimity again, easily confused, easily offended and easily angered.
In fact, what Ku Li did was to destroy former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s reputation in a way. With opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and Mahathir looking useless and ineffective, it is good for Umno’s politics.
GreenViper4010: I honestly "feel" for Shahril and understand his disappointment. But he should not be surprised.
Ku Li (rhymes with ‘who’s he’?) has been an Umno leader for decades and should be interred with the remains of Mahathir and their ilk. As the song goes "time to say goodbye..."
As for the Umno grassroots being confused? They will always be confused, that's in their DNA. If they weren't confused, they wouldn't be Umno. Better for them to stay under the rock where they come from.
9th of May: Confuse the grassroots? Are you kidding me? They were confused a long time ago.
They can’t even tell thieves and kleptocrats from decent people. They can even vote and support thieves and kleptocrats who stole from the institutions meant to help them. - Mkini
