PETALING JAYA: Seven more mobile vaccination facilities are needed in Johor ahead of the monsoon season, says science, technology and innovation minister Adham Baba.
At present, 13 such units are operating in the state.
“I hope the extra mobile units can be operational by the end of September as the vaccination programme needs to be sped up before the monsoon starts,” he said in a statement.
The monsoon season usually lasts from November to February.
So far, 175,360 adults in Johor have received their vaccines from the existing 13 mobile facilities. Out of that number, 89,263 have completed two doses.Adham said 83.1% of the adult population in the state have received their first dose while 56.6% have completed two doses.
Meanwhile, 67.4%, or 15,772,760, of the adult population nationwide have been fully vaccinated. - FMT
