KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will now fully enforce a rule that only fully vaccinated workers and customers will be allowed to enter business premises.
The rule was initially imposed in mid-August but the state government took a lenient stand considering the low vaccination rate in the state.
However, the state has decided to fully impose the rule after its overall statewide 63.5% vaccination rate as of yesterday. At the same time the inoculation numbers have also improved considerably in most districts.
State local government and housing minister Masidi Manjun said shop owners must ensure that entry is allowed only to those who can show proof of full vaccination and a low-risk status on their MySejahtera app.
Masidi said the state government has also decided to allow the re-opening of spa businesses, beauty salons, reflexology and wellness centres as well as pedicure and manicure services starting Oct 1.
The state has also agreed to allow the re-opening of centres or tourism products such as those promoting edutainment, extreme and adventure activities, and tropical parks, among others, on Oct 1. - FMT
