KOTA KINABALU: Sabah health authorities have denied the allegations in a viral video in which a woman can be heard claiming that a teenager died after being given a Covid-19 vaccine shot in the east coast Lahad Datu district.
State health director Dr Rose Nani Mudin said the department (JKNS) as well as the Lahad Datu health office had not found any such incident.
“JKNS has lodged a police report over the claim,” she said in a statement shared on the department’s Facebook page.
“The actions of the individual (in the said video) have created panic and concern among the people, particularly parents and teenagers planning to receive the vaccine.
“The department has urged the public not to believe any fake information about vaccines.”
Rose said 80% to 90% of patients in intensive care were those not vaccinated.
She said those with questions about the vaccine may contact the department through the hotline at 019 605 1196. - FMT
