Arau MP Shahidan Kassim said it was "not fair" of the Anwar Ibrahim administration to deny opposition MPs funding.
"Although they call themselves a 'unity government', but we Perikatan Nasional MPs are not given allocations, while those from Pakatan Harapan do.
"In the words of the late P Ramlee - 'this is not fair'," said Shahidan (above), according to Sinar Harian.
Shahidan said PN will be holding discussions with the federal government soon for the people’s benefit.
He spoke to reporters after launching his service centre in Kubang Gajah, Perlis on Saturday.
Harapan's manifesto for the 15th parliamentary election did not pledge equal allocation to all MPs but instead pledged to establish a "Constituency Development Fund (CDF)" that can be used by all MPs.
Under the Dr Mahathir Mohamad administration, government MPs in Peninsular Malaysia were allocated RM3 million in 2020, while their East Malaysia counterparts could access RM3.5 million.
The present administration has yet to reveal what sort of funding will be made available for the 148 MPs on the government bench. - Mkini
