Kedah cops probing clip of altercation allegedly involving MB’s aide

PETALING JAYA: 

Police are investigating a viral clip of an altercation involving a man believed to be an aide to Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor.

Kota Setar police chief Siti Nor Salawati Saad said they received two reports about the incident from two men, aged 48 and 54, Utusan Malaysia reported.

She said the incident occurred last night at 11.50pm.

Based on the video clip, several people are believed to be involved in the quarrel, one of whom was seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle,

 she was quoted as saying.

Police are now investigating the matter for assault and provocation.

In the clip, lasting 1 minute and 20 seconds, several individuals were seen expressing their dissatisfaction with a man they claimed was Sanusi’s aide.

They had accused the aide of allegedly assaulting a trader at the night market in Jalan Pegawai. The man denied the allegation.

Another man then threatened to report the matter to the police.

Nor Salawati said statements had been taken from two people, including the man believed to be the menteri besar’s aide.
