KOTA KINABALU: Contractors are urged to get permission from Sabah Electricity (SE) for electrical wiring works for safety purposes.

Yesterday, three people were killed during the installation of solar lamps in Ranau.

SE senior general manager (asset management), Mohd Yusmanizam Mohd Yusof, reminded the public and all parties to liaise with the nearest Sabah Electricity office before carrying out work involving electrical installations.

"This measure ensures that Sabah Electricity can disconnect the supply if necessary. Such precautions must be taken seriously to prioritise safety and prevent unwanted incidents.

"We want to avoid any incidents that could jeopardise safety or damage assets," he said in a media statement. - NST
