A knee-high flash flood struck near Puncak Alam, Selangor today after the wall of a water retention bund broke amid a downpour, sending water gushing into a neighbourhood.
The bund is situated next to the Taman Seri Alam neighbourhood, and images from social media showed the houses directly facing the bund to be among the worst affected.
Flooding was also reported to have occurred at the nearby Hillpark.
The Fire and Rescue Department said there were no casualties, but some residents were relocated to a flood shelter at Saujana Utama.
It is not clear how many families were evacuated.
