KUALA LUMPUR: Two men attempting to evade a police roadblock along the Damansara-Puchong Expressway by driving against traffic were arrested following a 35km chase.
Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Ja’afar said police chased a Proton Satria driven by the two suspects around 11.32am yesterday after they attempted to ram a police MPV and a motorcycle ridden by a member of the public.
He said the suspects, aged 30 and 29, were detained at Jalan PJU 1a/1 in Ara Damansara after a 30-minute chase.
“A quantity of drugs believed to be methamphetamine weighing12.87 grammes was found in their car, along with a weapon believed to be an electric shock-wave device (stun gun).
“The first suspect, who was driving the vehicle, has 11 prior convictions for criminal and five narcotics-related cases, while the second suspect has one prior conviction,” he said in a statement today.
Shahrulnizam said the case is being investigated for several offences, including attempted murder, speeding and possession of drugs.
