PETALING JAYA
Police are urging victims of an alleged fraud involving an influencer operating a travel agency in South Korea to come forward and lodge reports.

Bukit Aman commercial crime investigation department (CCID) director Ramli Yoosuf said no reports had been received from those who claimed to have been defrauded.

“Any individual who has fallen victim is urged to lodge a police report. We will cooperate with the authorities in South Korea to investigate the matter.

“Filing a police report is crucial to enable us to assist the victims and facilitate cooperation through Interpol or the South Korean authorities,” he told a press conference held at the CCID headquarters at Menara KPJ here today, Bernama reported.

A video had gone viral on social media showing a woman who claimed to be a victim of fraud by the influencer.

In the video, the woman claimed that she and her travel group were stranded at the Incheon International Airport without return flight tickets as promised by the influencer’s travel agency. They were later informed that a technical issue had delayed the booking of the tickets. - FMT
