Police in Cameron Highlands have arrested two men over the rape of a 15-year-old Orang Asli girl, with one suspect confessing to the crime.
According to a statement by the Cameron Highlands district police headquarters, the first suspect’s confession led to a seven-day remand from the Raub Magistrate Court.
The victim told the police that she met a local man on a dating app who said he would take her “jalan-jalan” (sightseeing).
Instead, he raped her in the car while taking her as far as Kedah, eventually leaving her at the roadside, the police added.
A passer-by found the teenager and brought her to the police.
The first suspect had two records of prior convictions under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1953 while the second had four records, including three under the said Act and one under the Penal Code for theft of a motor vehicle. - Mkini
