KUALA LUMPUR: Police are actively searching for suspects involved in an armed robbery at a home in Muar, Johor.
Muar district deputy police chief Superintendent Muhammad Aidil Roneh Abdullah confirmed that authorities were alerted to the incident, which occurred at a residence in Taman Sri Treh at 6.20pm yesterday.
"Officers immediately responded to the scene, where two suspects were believed to be involved," he said in a statement today.
He said police discovered the abandoned vehicle used in the robbery in Jasin, Melaka, and efforts to apprehend the suspects are ongoing.
The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code, which pertain to gang and armed robbery, carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, along with fines or whipping.
Aidil also urged the public to report any relevant information to assist with the investigation.
