PETALING JAYA: The government has reduced the maximum fare for one-way economy class flights from the peninsula to East Malaysia before major festive holidays to RM499 from RM599.
The transport ministry’s initiative will also now be applicable for travel on the four days before major festive periods.
Previously, the price ceiling of RM599 only applied for travel on the three days before Christmas, Chinese New Year, Aidilfitri, Gawai and Kaamatan.
The ministry said the reduced price applies for this coming Christmas, but reminded that the RM499 price tag does not include taxes and fees.
“Changing of flights or dates is not permitted. There can also be no change in the passenger’s name and flight tickets purchased cannot be refunded,” it said in a statement. - FMT
